Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family. We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew. -Josh and Jennifer

Wednesday, February 28th

Weight: 2 lbs 14 oz (1306 g)

The meeting did not go well. We met in a conference room with Dr. Byrne and a nurse. The news that she gave us is that there was a mistake with Andrew's EEG results from last Friday. They told us it showed normal brain activity, but there was a mix-up and it does not show brain activity on the right side. In addition, he does not have the two most primitive reflexes, which are the ability to focus/dilate his pupils and a gag reflex.

I just want you to know that I am praying for you every day and for little Andrew. I know you have been blessed by being able to have him this long, but sometimes we have to let go and let God take over. When he gets to heaven he will be a whole little angel and you can feel at ease knowing he will never have to suffer any more.
May you find comfort in knowing God is with you and Andrew. He will keep him safe and I know he will give you peace and comfort to face the future.
With all my love and prayers,
Aunt Grace
