Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family. We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew. -Josh and Jennifer

Sunday, February 25th

Weight: 2 lbs 14.4 oz (1318 g)

Another pretty good day for Andrew! He is hardly having any spells, only a couple all day, same for last night. He weighed 1300 grams even last night, which is 2 lbs 13.8 ounces. He is doing really well with the rice cereal added to his milk, he's keeping almost everything down now. His hematocrit was a little low this morning so he had another transfusion today followed by a diuretic to help him get rid of some of the swelling around his neck. He will get his umbilical line out very soon.

His ventilator got turned up to 70, which is very high. They originally told us that if it needed to be higher than 60 he'd go back on the oscillator so I don't know what the deal is, if maybe they just turned it up for the transfusion. (?)

A couple pics...

Yesterday he kept hanging on to his feeding tube.
