Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family. We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew. -Josh and Jennifer

Monday, February 19th

Weight: 2 lbs 9.2 ounces (1170 g)

Andrew seems like he is doing a little better today. His ventilator is still on 50 but his oxygen was back down around 65% when we left, which is good. He got a new neighbor, a 26-weeker that was born today. A new doctor came on call today too, but I didn't get to meet her yet as she was out when we were there.

Andrew has gotten to a gestational age where they do not want his oxygen sats above 95% because they don't want to harm his lungs. So now the goal is anywhere from 85%-95%.

The night nurse has been messing up his weight each night in the conversion from grams to pounds. The grams are correct and I have been changing it to pounds on my own because I knew it was wrong, but the day nurse today finally understood what I was telling her and she was able to fix that in his chart.

I also got to hold him again today. For about 20 minutes. His sats kept going up above 95% so they had to keep turning down the oxygen so he would stay in that 85-95 range.

He looked good today too. Good color and skin wasn't as dry as it has been. Josh didn't go in because he has a sore throat.
