Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family. We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew. -Josh and Jennifer

Friday, February 9th

Weight: 2 lbs 5 ounces

The little guy is doing alright today. He is a piglet though, he moved up to 8 cc's on his feeds and is still digesting it all. They feed him through a tube to his stomach and they pull out the contents of his stomach to check digestion each time. I'm so glad there is never anything there because that's kind of gross.

His oxygen was up a bit to 35% and it got turned up to 40% while we were there because he was having some spells. But his ventilator rate is down to 35, so that is good. His neurologist didn't make it today for the consult so it will either be late tonight or Monday before she sees him. And then the orthopedist that will look at his back will be in Monday or Tuesday night. Chromosome/DNA testing will be back Monday or Tuesday as well. So it was a pretty quiet day. He did open his right eye and just sort of peeked around. He looked right at me so I got kind of close so he could see me. It was cute...I know he could see me for the first time. I think he knows I'm mommy.
