Weight: 2 lbs 14.3 oz (1315 g)
Andrew is 4 weeks old today! And in celebration, he turned over 3 pounds last night. He is starting to look like he's filling out and I can tell he is growing in length as well.
No changes to his ventilator today, it's still on 70 and oxygen is around 72%. His sats are good though and he looks pretty good. I asked the nurse yesterday what his Apgars were at birth since I hadn't thought to ask at all yet. They were 2 and 5, kind of sad.
Dr. Byrne wants to meet with us tomorrow night at 6. She wants to discuss all the results of his consults between all the neonatologists, orthopedics, PT, OT, respiratory therapy, and neurology. I'm a little nervous about what all she will say, but I feel like we need to hear everything together too. She said the meeting is to discuss his "plan of care". I was hoping we could do it Thursday or Friday so I could have childcare for Haley, but she's on call for Vanderbilt those days so no guarantee she'll be there. Bummer that we'll have to take Haley with us, I hope she behaves herself.
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" -Jeremiah 29:11
Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family.
We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew.
