Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family. We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew. -Josh and Jennifer

Tuesday, February 20th

Weight: 2 lbs 11.7 ounces (1240 g)

Andrew had another hard day. His oxygen bounced from 65-100% through the day. It was on 100% when we left because he had another fairly bad spell, but I think they were getting ready to turn it down some.

I'm getting discouraged that his oxygen needs seem to be INCREASING when I have such high hopes of him needing LESS as he grows.

I can tell he's getting bigger. Not a huge difference, but he seems to be getting a little more fat. His hair was all crazy today, he has about 134614361 cow licks and it was sticking out in all different directions. I can't wait to give him a spike when he comes home, but he may take care of the spike on his own. ;)

He went up to 18 cc's on his feeds today & is handling it well so far. He has another air leak in his vent tube so they are going to replace that in the morning, also with a bigger tube. They said he tolerated it really well last time, I hope he does this time too. He is 3 weeks old today!!
