Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family. We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew. -Josh and Jennifer

Saturday, February 17th

Weight: 2 lbs 4.5 ounces (1037 g)

Andrew had a decent day until tonight. His vent setting is still on 43 and oxygen still around 60%. They decreased his feeds because he is not digesting consistently, so now he is back down to 15 cc's.

Tonight was very scary. While I was in visiting with Katie, Andrew's heartrate dropped and would not come back. The nurse had to resuscitate him manually because he stopped breathing, his lungs cramped up, and did not allow the ventilator to pump air to them. Therefore his heartrate plummeted for quite awhile and he turned purple. They got him back, but the nurse said there have been babies die and they have to bring them back. :frown: Very scary but he is okay now.

A set of twins was admitted today, two boys named Wes and Will. They are very cute!

This is a healing blanket that Katie is holding, one of her friends' churches made it for Andrew.

After seeing him we all went out to Rainforest Cafe. Haley & Jacob loved it!
