Andrew finally had his neurology consult. They think that his EEG that was normal is incorrect, so they repeated the EEG and we should get the results tomorrow or maybe Monday. The neurologist said it is incorrect because it shows that he should have normal signals from his brain to his limbs but he cannot move his legs, so there is an inconsistency somewhere. She said that when there is a lot of pressure on an infant's head, like there was on Andrew's before he was born, that the EEG can show a false normal reading. He is going to have a neck x-ray to show if there is something they are missing about his lack of movement.
Also the doctor said his ventilator cannot go much higher because it is damaging his lungs, so if he gets any worse he will have to go back on the oscillator. It could be tonight or not tonight, but she said to think about if we want them to try the oscillator or not. His lung xrays are showing that his lungs are not growing so if he goes back on the oscillator it is likely he will never come back off it. She also said that he might not make it much longer on his own. I just don't know what to do. I can't let them just give up hope on him, but I don't want to hurt him. They are starting to push us now to really think about taking him off the vent.
I am worried that God is answering my prayer and making the decision for us, but I'm not ready yet. I'm so sad.
Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family.
We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew.

Josh & Jennifer, I just pray that Jesus would minister to your hearts right now. He will be so faithful to walk you through each decision along the way. I know that's hard to believe in the middle of a painful crisis, but it is so true. I've seen it in my own life time and again. He is with you in this decision-making process. I will pray that the peace that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds as you look to Christ for clear direction. He loves you and holds your sweet family in the palm of His hand. Your family also loves you and we will not stop praying, praying, praying. Love, Julie
I am so sorry to hear that Andrew is not doing well. My heart is breaking for you. I think about you everyday and wish I could be there to give you a hug and see your beautiful boy in person. Love, Carrie
