Andrew Joshua Matson was born at 1:26 pm on January 30th, and went to be with Jesus at around 5:30 pm on March 3rd. He spent his time here on earth living in the NICU at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Jennifer has been giving daily updates, and we wanted to make them available to our friends and family. We were blessed to be Andrew's parents for 33 days. While we will always miss him and love him, we know that he is in a much better place where he will never again feel pain or discomfort. We thank God for blessing us with the time we had with Andrew. -Josh and Jennifer

Thursday, March 1st

Weight: 2 lbs 15.6 ounces (1350 g)

Andrew did okay today. His vent settings are all about the same and he looked pretty good. I asked the doctor to hold off on his arm splints. He was previously getting them on for 3 hours, off for 3 hours, etc. I don't want him to deal with that right now so I called them off for the time being.

He had a bath today and his hair was extra fuzzy again and back to looking reddish-blonde. I took several pics of it. The nurse brought me some of those inkless footprint things so I did footprints & handprints for his baby book(s). Well, I tried anyway, it was kind of hard but I got a couple good ones. They are going to try to get some more good ones on paper tonight so I can cut out the best and paste in his books. And we'll do some plaster molds on Saturday when Haley comes down of both of their hands.

It was a good day though. I enjoyed my time with him immensely. MIL came today and she's staying through Saturday or Sunday to watch Haley at our house so we get more time with Andrew during the day. It was so nice to just sit with him and not worry about the time or feeding snacks or giving naps or tantrums in the waiting room. After visiting with Andrew, Josh & I stopped at the mall and walked around a bit. I got a dress and it was 2 sizes below my pre-preg. size, so that was nice too. (yeah, it was a stretchy material, but it still counts!!)
